The Return 2!

Well that’s 3 years since I returned to Blender, but not really. However, Blender 4.0 is now released and I’m doing a bunch of tutorials. This time I’m back! Honest! My muscle memory is returning much more easily and completely than last time and the tutorials have been a breeze. The new geometry nodes stuff is nice, the UI has settled down, and the renderer can actually use my GPU again finally. Game On!

Started the Return 2 with Blender Guru’s latest Donut tutorial of course…

The Return!

It’s been a few years since I used Blender, but I have decided to get back into it again. Blender 2.8 sure has moved on from the versions I last used though so I’ve had to do a couple of Tutorials to learn the new interface and workflows. Anyhoo, I think I’m more or less ready to proceed now. Expect some Daily3D uploads in the nearish future.

Year One

Today is the one year anniversary of my first encounter with Blender.

Year One

This was my first tutorial, from the tutor4u YouTube channel.

My first non-tutorial was a bit of local architecture.

That went well enough, so I did more. Mostly I’ve been doing /r/Daily3D challenges ( here ).

Here’s to year two.

Abstract Gallery

Added a new gallery to house my images that aren’t really anything. They usually take a very long time to render because these are the times I’ll crank up depth of field, motion blur etc. On the plus side, they make quite good desktop backgrounds.

New Blog!

Hello! I’ve decided to create this blog to archive my various artistic impulses. Most recently this has been to learn Blender. I’ve only been learning it for about 12 weeks so I’m still crap, but I do seem to be getting a bit better 🙂
